We've noticed a few instances of joke/troll reviews on the site. We realize fully that this is probably just a silly joke in response to some of the negative response our ship has been getting, but F&tF's review system is not to be used for "troll" commenting, even harmless ones.

If the problem persists, we will be disabling anonymous commenting.

We've had multiple artists have issues with uploading full-size art, but not their thumbnails, and we are happy to say that this issue is now fixed.

If you have been trying unsuccessfully to upload your Kurtofsky fanart, we encourage you to try again! Just remember that the maximum pixel size for images is 10000x10000, but this can be raised if members need it to be.

The giving season is fast approaching! The F&tF mods encourage and support the act of giving to charities, specifically those aimed at helping the LGBT community. As a lot of us know, the LGBT community is a closely linked aspect of the Glee fan community, especially for those of us who are a part of the community ourselves. This is our chance to give back a little. There is no limit on how much or little you can give. We understand that, in this economy, giving can sometimes be a difficult task to accomplish, but just remember that every little bit makes a difference; you can make a difference.

When you donate to the charity of your choice you will receive from us a personalized banner in your F&tF profile page, as well as the knowledge that you've done something to help others.

We will be running this event until January 1st, 2012 so, if you can afford to, be sure and join in on the giving!

Please click here to see our list of charities, how to donate, and previews of the donation banners!

As most of you probably know, the Kurtofsky fandom's first Big Bang challenge, Kurtofsky Bang, has come to an end. A lot of great, new stories have emerged in the Kurtofsky fandom as result.

Now that the fest is over, all Kurtofsky Bang participants are absolutely welcome to post their stories at Fancy & the Fury. If you're going to post your Big Bang story here and you want to include the art created for it, please post it in the Fanfiction > Multimedia Fic category. When adding classifications to your story header, don't forget the Kurtofsky Bang classification under Fic Fests. Also, please credit your artist for their work!

It's input time!

Is there something you've been thinking we should add to the site? A current feature you think could be made better? Something else? Say so here! We encourage and value your input --after all, the site is for you guys and we want F&tF to be a place where you always feel comfortable!

Anonymous questions cannot be submitted on the main site itself, but they are allowed on our LJ news mirror, so if you'd rather not leave your name with your suggestion, feel free to leave the comment on this news post instead!

A member pointed out that this wasn't working quite right. It's been fixed.

English has now been added to the languages category for posts, due to the fact that people were unable to view only English stories on the Most Recent page. All authors on the site have been informed, and asked to update their stories to include the English language if necessary.

As always, if you find anything broken, let us know and someone will fix it (or at least try to)! We hope you're enjoying the site!

The contents of this post are already fairly obvious if you're reading it here, but in the interest of making sure all site updates are mirrored on LJ, here it is.

Fancy & the Fury is now on LiveJournal! Well... sort of, anyway.

We've set up an account there to mirror news posts from the site, as well as to host the site's monthly email newsletter (for those of you who don't want to or can't sign up for the mailing list). You can follow Fancy & the Fury on Livejournal, here: fancyandthefury.livejournal.com.

And just a reminder: if you're tired of watching your submissions sit in the queue until one of the mods gets a chance to validate them, you can request validation by contacting us. If you've submitted a minimum of three works to the site without receiving a rejection letter, you qualify for validation.

For those of you already on F&tF, none of this is new information. We're just making sure the F&tF LJ has all of the same information as the main site. The following news posts are from most recent to oldest:

Hey all! Another update already! I received a question about non-English fic and there is a new classification when you tag fics now, with alternate languages to choose from. Obviously, we cannot run quality control on non-English fic as the only language any of our mods is fluent in is German, but that's a risk we're willing to take so that all language fic may be posted to F&tF.

UPDATE: We have a new mod! User DEVERS1218 has graciously come on to proof all Italian, French and Spanish written fic and Magz will be in charge of any German written fic.

If we've not added a language you would like to post fic in please let us know and it will be added.

Please do not tag English-written fic with an alternate language if it has a second language featured relevant to the plot; this does not count as a non-English fic.

[8.10.11] FANVIDEOS
We've just successfully tested video embedding and posting! Hooray! This means that Kurtofsky fanvideos are now approved to post. You cannot upload videos to the site, but you are able to embed them using embed or iframe tags (which means any of your Youtube hosted fanvids are good to go)!

And, as always, if something went wrong or if you find anything else not working, please let us know so we can fix it!

[8.9.11] NEW SKINS
Hi, everyone! I'm Magz, and I'll be Tess's co-pilot as far as admin on Fancy & the Fury is concerned.

I've set up two new skins for the site: BLANC and NOIR. Feel free to check them out. If there are any kinks that need to be worked out, let me know!

We're still working on ironing a few wrinkles out of the code for the site, but there should be no major issues at this point. Again, if you run into something broken, let Tess or myself know and one of us will poke it until it's fixed.

[8.9.11] SKIN BORKED
Somehow while I was sleeping our DARK skin got a little... messed up. I'll be working on the problem today and, hopefully, we'll be back to having both DARK and LIGHT available for both those whose eyes need darker screens, and those who need lighter.

For now, the LIGHT theme does still work. We're very sorry for any inconveniences!

A quick reminder: It is in our TOS that our authors are required to read and adhere to our Submission Rules.

Again, sorry for the inconvenience and I'll be figuring it out very soon!

EDIT1: Okay, found out something new! If your DARK theme is not working, switch to LIGHT and then right back to DARK and you should be fine. It's not a fix but it's a good temporary solution for while we're figuring out what's going on.

EDIT2: I think I've fixed the problem. If anyone still has trouble with the DARK skin, please let me know in the comments.

[8.8.11] LAUNCH
Half a week and more than a couple of days running on no sleep, and Fancy & the Fury is open for business! The lack of sleep? Completely worth it. I'm so excited and proud to be able to bring my fellow shippers and friends the first website dedicated to Kurtofsky fanfic, fanart and graphics.

We have two admins, myself, and Magz, and two mods, Jordyn and Rachel.

Welcome, and we hope you enjoy your stay. If you have any suggestions, feel free to email us via the contact page and we'll take them all into consideration and put the suggestions into effect if we all agree on it.
